Fundraising Opportunities

D.A.R.E. FUNDRAISING EFFORTS – D.A.R.E. America is continuing its fundraising efforts.  Our limited Federal funding has been cut by 80% over the last four years and corporate support has decreased while requests for the D.A.R.E. program have increased.  

D.A.R.E. America is constantly updating the curriculum with enhancement lessons (lessons beyond the core curriculum) in everything from meth and bullying to OTC prescription drug abuse and gangs.  The cost of development, research, training, and world-wide distribution of materials for one enhancement lesson averages $600,000.  

• D.A.R.E. America will continue to aggressively protect the integrity of the D.A.R.E. name and we do want to know when there is a problem.  We encourage people to call 1-800-223-DARE or go to www.dare.org with their concerns about any of these fundraisers.
  
  
• Child Safety Toy Program - The D.A.R.E. Child Safety Program will be donating toys to local D.A.R.E. programs throughout the country.  With recent reports of more than 13 million children currently living below the federal poverty level in the United States, D.A.R.E. is pleased that the Child Safety Program is providing gifts to children that may otherwise receive none. Last year our fund raising partners provided over $1.5 million dollars in toys to D.A.R.E. officers who then gave those toys to needy children.
  
  
• Book and Gift Fairs - Gift fairs are a convenient way to raise funds.  With a gift fair there is no investment on the part of the company hosting the event, no corporate sponsors, no time or effort required whatsoever.  All the D.A.R.E. Officer needs to do is provide a space to host the event.   A percentage of all proceeds will go directly to your D.A.R.E. program. It's that simple. 
  
  (School Placement Program -  $100 for every school you help them locate.  Gift Fairs- 10% of all proceeds to your local D.A.R.E. program).
