DARE Dance Regional Manager
New York, New Jersey and Boston
Cristine Dhimos has been serving as Regional Manager for New York, New Jersey and Boston beginning with it’s first pilot program at PS 20 in Manhattan, back in the fall of 2000.
In addition to D.A.R.E. Dance she is presently the chair of the Dance Department at CAP21, a musical theater conservatory which trains students from NYU Tish School Undergraduate Program where she oversees the dance curriculum, faculty, and teaches ballet.
Cristine began her professional training and career in 1975 with what was then called the Alvin Ailey Third Company and toured the West Indies performing in such ballets as Revelations and Blues Suite. She was also one of the dancers performing for opening night of the well known Studio 54. She has also danced with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, the Pearl Primus Dance Company, the Pearl Lang Dance Company, and the Afro-Brazilian Dance Company, Sambrazil.
In 1990 she started working with CAS/AileyCamp and served as a teacher there and then Director for a total of ten years. During this time she also developed the program for AileyCamp Too!
Cristine has taught at The Ailey School, The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, Lehman College, and the Westchester Dance Center.
She also has served as a consultant for PASE, (Partnership for After School Education). |
